A private party, Debbie (our client), retained RAM to locate Robert, her ex-husband and who had disappeared following their divorce. Robert owed $175,000 in child support payments. The client told us that a court judgment was granted in her favor ordering that her ex husband and father of their three children pay $1800 a month, collectively, for spousal and child support. She said Robert made support payments for the first two months and then disappeared. Robert quit his job as an architect and moved from his last known residence. Over a period of approximately nine years, the client sought help from the county, the district attorney, a private investigator and exhausted all other means known to her in an effort to locate Robert and his assets; however, to no avail. Debbie had remarried about four months before hiring RAM.
Within 3 weeks, RAM agents located the Subject in the state of North Carolina. Robert had remarried and had one child with his new wife. Robert was employed as a senior partner of a large architectural firm, earning a $290,000 annual gross income. His wife was earning a gross annual income of $140,000 as a doctor's assistant. RAM determined that Robert and his wife had purchased a house together, but it was quitclaimed into his wife's name on the next business day after purchase.
Two bank accounts were also located that were in both of their names. The account balances were modest in relation to their joint incomes. Balances were maintained in an amount sufficient to meet their personal living expenses and maintain a modest savings account. The client was astonished when RAM reported that their agents followed up on information received and located approximately 400,000 in an offshore account in Bermuda that Robert and his new wife had opened together. The amazing part about it is that Robert used our client's social security number instead of his, to open the account. The client received back support of approximately $174,000.
This is an amazing example of how RAM PI can return huge value to clients, and produce results where others can not.
